Installed Fogger System
This is a humidifier for the grow room and is basically a homemade toilet tank with a floating fogger. I purchased a 27 gallon tough tote and toilet fill valve from Home Depot, to start with. At the base of one of the corners I drilled a 1.25" hole to place the fill valve. The fill valve seals the hole as it would in a toilet.
It took a little trial and error, but beneath the fill valve I attached a 3/8 in. Compression x 7/8 in. Ballcock Nut standard toilet connector to a 3/8" to 1/2" PEX shut-off valve. The PEX side of this valve is similar to the SharkBite connectors, so no PEX tool or compression sleeves were necessary. The 1/2" PEX tubing runs from this shutoff valve to the ceiling where it connects to a SharkBite 1/2" to 1/2" x 1/2" PEX tee that links into the existing house water line.
Additionally, I drilled a hole above the fill valve water line in the tough tote and ran a 1/2" PEX tube to the drain that is near the furnace.
With this setup, the 27 gallon container fills automatically from house water until the toilet fill valve closes. If the fill valve were to fail, the tank would drain before running over onto the floor.
The fogger I purchased is a Crispaire Mist Maker Fogger 12 Head Ultrasonic Humidifier Fog Machine. This device comes with a long cable from the 12-head fogger that sits on floats. The long cable is helpful to locating the power supply for the device outside of the grow room. The fogger plugs into a second Elitech Tempearature and Humidity controller, like the one being used for temperature regulation of the dark room. I have configured the fogger to trigger around 87% humidity and a second space heater to trigger at around 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
With this setup, temperatures should be maintained between 65–70 degrees and humidity between 80–95%.
The grow room is also setup now with a Techbee T319 Cycle Timer connected to outlet and inlet 6" duct fans. On two hour intervals the duct fans will turn on blowing air into the grow room and pulling air out of the dark room. There are two 6" ducts between the two rooms and all ducts are filtered. Blowing for 7 minutes, these fans should circulate the entire contents of both rooms with new oxygen rich air.
